Happy May + Monthly Goals
Wow!!! It’s May! This year is really flying by guys….I don’t know what to do! It’s absolutely out of control. I wish time would go a little bit slower. Don’t you? Before I get into my upcoming goals for the month of May, I’d like to look back on the ones from April.
Biphasic sleeping – I did pretty well at the start of the month, but I definitely fell off around week 3. I think I’m going to try and give it a go in May.
Get my body ready for bathing suit season – I started out strong but then my stupid foot got hurt and I couldn’t get shoes on. I did start changing a bit of my bad habits , but I need to work harder this month.
Re-design my blog layout
Re-open my vintage shop - I barely had any free time, I think I’m going to save this goal for over the summer.
Stay organized
Dedicate time every day to disconnecting
All in all I don’t think I did too bad, but I definitely could have worked harder. I also blame Mercury Retrograde for messing me up a bit, that stuff really effects me. However, I’m going to be making a conscious effort to successfully achieve my all goals for the month of May. So without further adieu, here they are:
Finish at least 3 books.
- Summer and the City
- Water for Elephants
- D.V.
Attend one of those pole dancing fitness classes.
A few of my girl friends have done these before and said its a great workout. So why not give it a try? Don’t worry, I’m not about to do it as a profession. hahaha.
Tackle my “About Me” & “Link Love” section on the blog.
This is on the top of my list to do. I just feel so silly writing the “About Me” part. Maybe after a few glasses of wine it’ll get easier.
Disconnect for the entire weekend that we’re on vacation.
M and I are going to the Keys for the weekend of May 13th and I think I’m going to try to stay away from my phone, twitter, email, & computer while I’m away.
Give up beer.
I was never a beer drinker, however recently friends of ours opened a bar and they have this really great beer selection. I’ve been experimenting and trying a bunch of them, however this has really put some weight on me. So I think its time to break up with the beer. Back to wine & vodka I go.
Drink at least two bottles of water a day.
For some this might sound silly, but I dunno what it is, I just hate water. Its tasteless and ugh I just do not like it at all. BUT I know its good for me, so I’m going to make an effort to work it into my routine.
Eat breakfast daily.
Again, this might sound asinine, but I never eat breakfast. Its horrible I know. I’m not looking to cook anything elaborate but I know it’ll help my even if I just start it with some yogurt & fruit.
Follow through with blogging. Become a better blogger.
Over the last few months I’ve really lost my steam when it comes to blogging. I’ve also got a bad habit of starting things and not finishing them. (ie: 365 challenges or 30 days to new habits) But at the end of the day I really do love blogging, its quite a passion of mine and I need to make a major change in my writing schedule.
No shopping.
This is pretty self explanatory. I think I’ll expand on it with a 30 day challenge post.
Journal.
I think starting (or ending) each day doing this will really help my writing.
Donate the remains of my clothing. Re-do my closet.
I’ve had two enormous Ikea bags filled with clothing that need to be donated sitting here for over a month. I don’t know whats been getting in my way when it comes to dropping them off. But they need to get outta my house and to people who need them. I’ll be taking them over to my local Covenant House.
Goals rolling over from April:
Get my body ready for bathing suit season. (especially my beachy vaca in two weeks)
Attempt Biphasic sleeping again.
A few of my blogger friends share their upcoming goals:
I love Vivianna’s list of “30 things to do before turning 31″.
Clare is such a motivating personality.
Danielle’s “8 Weeks to a Better Me” is great!
What are you goals for the upcoming month?
If you do a goals post make sure to link it in my comments!
Bisou Bisou. <3
