(Calendar via Free People)
Well, Hello there everyone. I’ve been on quite the blog-cation for the last week or so. I’ve just needed some time for myself and what not, as well as the fact that I haven’t felt very motivated to blog. (I’ll explain in a later post) But now I’m back and thought it’d be nice to start off with a “Welcome June” type of post. I honestly can’t believe 2011 is half over, on a personal life & career level the year has been absolutely amazing, but as for my blogging I think I’ve taken a few steps back. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I think I’ve just been more focused on my offline life and career/schooling than the internet. But, as far as the rest of the year is concerned, I’d like to find a happy balance between all of my interests and life happenings. Sometimes I just feel like there isn’t enough hours in the day. Anyone else with me on that?
Looking back on my May goals…let’s see how I did. (I’ll admit it was not my most productive month)
Finish at least 3 books.
Yeah….not so much.
Attend one of those pole fitness dancing classes.
I finally found one locally, but couldn’t fit it into my schedule & budget this month. I’m going to put this back on my list for June.
Disconnect for the entire weekend that we’re on vacation.
Was totally great at doing this! I brought my computer along, but didn’t even use it. Also didn’t pay much attention to my phone either. It was oh so nice. I’ve actually been disconnecting quite a bit in general, staying away from google reader on the weekends and I haven’t been tweeting as much.
Tackle my “About Me” & “Link Love” section on the blog.
Not even close. Writing the About Me section always intimidates me. Maybe after a few glasses of wine, it’ll get easier.
Give up beer.
I actually did a pretty amazing job at this, and it has helped me drop a few pounds. I had a few pints of beer, but nothing like before. Wine au go go!
Drink at least two bottles of water a day.
Drank so much water this month! And it really made my skin absolutely flawless!
Eat breakfast daily.
Barely. I suck at eating breakfast. It always makes me feel nauseous.
Been doing it before bed, feels refreshing and nice to get some things off my head at the end of the day.
Donate the remains of my clothing. Re-do my closet.
I’ll say that I did this 50/50. I pulled the items from my closet. But haven’t donated all of it. I’m also thinking of opening an online closet shop. I’ve been seeing a lot of people do it, so I’m still up in the air about it. It’s quite time consuming.
Like I said, not my finest hour, but it happens. I definitely want to re-visit some of the old goals and I’ve got some new ones:
Make a “To-Do” list every morning & stick to it.
Clearly by looking at last month’s goal list I haven’t been so productive. I think it’s due to a lack of focus and sticking to a list. I think it’ll really help out if I make a to do list when I wake up & that way I can physically cross off each thing. I definitely have a feeling I’ll get more tasks done that way.
Work out for at least 30 minutes a day.
Yeah…need to get back on the workout train.
Get my health situation taken care of.
I’ll talk about this more in another post, but I really need to get some things handled. I do have a doctors appt on Thursday, so that’s a step in the right direction for sure.
Wake up & blog before getting my day started.
As you can tell by now, my blog has slowed down quite a bit. After 5 years, it makes me sad to keep taking breaks from it, but I just haven’t been motivated. Also my days are so jam packed, that I haven’t had much free time to sit down at the computer for blog time. So I’m going to make an effort to get the blogging done before my day starts.
Clean a little bit everyday.
That way I can avoid having to spend a whole weekend afternoon doing it.
Re-arrange my apartment.
Just renewed my lease, time for a little home decor change!
I’m such a slacker when it comes to these. I’m just constantly running late & on the go, so I don’t get a chance to snap a photo.
Re-open the shop.
I really really really want to get this goal accomplished by the end of the month. I feel like the summer is the perfect time for new vintage and treasure hunting. I’d really love to get the store back up & running with a new name and new site.
Goals to re-visit from last month:
Donate clothing & re-do closet.
Attend a pole fitness class.
Tackle my “About Me” & “Link Love” sections
Those are my monthly goals…what are yours?
