Weekly Eats: 6/20-6/24
I love eating out just as much as the next person, (or maybe a little bit more) but it’s definitely not a cheap habit. It’s not that I hate cooking, I just despise the aftermath and cleaning up part. Plus, cooking for one sometimes feels a bit excessive. But then again, eating out alone or ordering in food is depressing…
Well, after reading Clare’s “Restaurant Report” posts over the last few weeks, I decided that maybe it was time for me to take a good look at how much I’m spending. (sidenote: if you don’t read her blog already, do it. she’s so motivating)
This week I’ve only included M-F, mostly because I know I won’t alter my weekend behavior much. I will never give up my Sunday brunches and mimosas. haha.
So without further adieu:
Monday: $13.84 Yeung House – Lunch/Dinner, $8.47 – Bottle of wine
Tuesday: $10.21 Maguires – Work meeting drinks
Wednesday: $3.58 Wendys – Hangover food, $2.12 Moo Moo – Froyo
Thursday: $4.93 Jamba Juice – Breakfast, $11 Heart Rock Sushi – Lunch, $25 Cheesecake Factory – Dinner/Drinks (worst day ever)
Friday: $6.44 Einsteins – Breakfast
Total spent: $85.59
Could have spent it on: my passport, a month of gas in my car, a week and a half of groceries, a haircut and getting my nails done.
Writing it all out daily and totaling it up at the end was not a great feeling. Especially seeing that Thursday total, ugh! I ate out all day long! But, it definitely alerted me to the realization that I need to slow my roll a bit on going out to eat. As well as the fact that I need to get my ass to the grocery store already, and get back to meal planning.
Do you spend a lot of money going out to eat during the week? Or are you more of a grocery shopper?
