Playing Catch Up
It’s Wednesday night and this is the first time I’m able to sit down to blog. I feel like I’m always saying that. But, seriously it’s true. And for all good reason of course. So much has been going on off the computer, that I just haven’t been scheduling enough time to sit down and spend some time on the internet. Such a terrible blogger, I know.
So, now at almost ten o’clock on a Wednesday night I’m laying in Brett’s bed (after making us some delicious vegetarian tacos) and doing a bit of my much put off blogging duties.
Let’s see where to start. . .
I feel like we’ve been going to an enormous amount of live shows lately. A few weeks ago I went to see The Civil Wars, not my most favorite show, but it was definitely interesting and helped me expand my musical palette for work. In the same night, we went to go see Lavola — a local band — perform at the Green Room and they we’re fucking amazing. Totally killed it. Later that week Brett invited me with him to see Tool. I know I know. It’s not really my personal favorite music, but it was quite the experience. Definitely a live show that I think everyone needs to see at least once in their lifetime. At some point mixed in there we also went to see Talib Kweli do a DJ set, which actually turned into him performing a few songs. So that was cool. Then last week I took Brett with me to see Sleigh Bells and Jacuzzi Boys. Such a killer show. I wasn’t originally a big fan of Sleigh Bells, but now they’ve started to grow on me.
Hmmm….what else….oh yes! On Sunday night I live blogged the Grammys with one of my coworkers on the County Grind blog. That was wildly intense, and a lot of fun. I’d do it again, but not with such a long event. Jeez, the Grammys are really long, and a bit boring.
And then Valentine’s Day…it was absolute perfection. Brett took me to Sunfish Grill, a totally quaint and amazing seafood restaurant. Seriously, it was so delicious. As far as presents go, he went completely above and beyond. I am still in awe of it all. And I couldn’t be more excited about going to see Aziz Ansari with him in March.
As far as everything else, I think I’m going to start dress like it’s 1976. I found some killer bell bottoms and I’m obsessed with them. I’m kind of over this whole gothy look, especially because I feel like everyone is doing it. I need a change. Oh yea, speaking of change, pulled the blue out of my hair, going back to red ombre. Sigh….never satisfied with my hair.
Life is good.
