In just a few days, July 26 to be exact, I’ll be ringing in the fifth year anniversary of blogging as BetseyJ.com. Kinda weird to think about that. If I count the years of Livejournal, it’s probably over a decade, which is even weirder. I know my old LJ blogs still exist, but I can’t dare to read them because it’s so cringeworthy. Man, I was so angsty. Lots of song lyrics were posted. Haha.

I couldn’t help but laugh at my first blog entry on here. “BORED”. So fitting. This blog was just a place to kill some time when I was bored. I never thought it’d end up taking me to where I am now. While I rarely find time for a regular blog schedule, it’s opened the doors to so many life opportunities. Especially one in particular….

Yup! Interviewing the completely magical John Waters! (Read interview Part one and two)  I couldn’t help but be a little braggy about this happening last week cause it’s definitely a career highlight for me. I’ve also met so many amazing people over the last few years, and I hope to continue doing so.

Being a blogger is definitely a funny thing, and displaying your life so publicly can be a bit strange at times. But I wouldn’t change anything. I only hope that I can start finding some more time to put the effort into my personal blog. I really do love this little corner of the internet that I call my own, I just need to find more time and inspiration for it. Sounds nerdy, I know.

But at the end of the day, as bloggers aren’t we just a bunch of nerds with really cute shoes?
