That Blogger Gurl

I'm not a player, I just blog a lot.

Thursday, July Fifth

I’m clearly too lazy to think of a witty title. Sorry, guys.

Well, Summer is officially here. And I want nothing to do with wearing all black anymore. It’s just too damn hot, and plus I’m really into wearing all white right now. From one extreme to the next. Haha. The other day I found the perfect 70s esque white mini dress. I just wish white didn’t get so dirty. I’m also obsessing over cut out shoulder tees. (As you can see in the photo above) Seems like a pretty easy DIY though, right?

I can’t believe the first half of the year came and went so quickly. Where is this time going? My 29th birthday is just around the corner, and I’m actually feeling pretty good about it. I just need to push myself more and to stay motivated with all the goals and projects I want to accomplish over this next half of 2012.

And oh yeah…I dyed my hair red. I’m in love. I can’t wait to continue doing it so it gets to be more solid throughout.

I’ve gotten some really great feedback and responses to my “Sober Girl in a Drunk World” series of posts, so I’m going to keep doing them weekly. Eventually, I’d love to expand on each post in more detail and turn it into a book. But that’s a long term goal for right now. Don’t hesitate to send me an email or leave a comment regarding something you’d like to know more about in regards to my new sober lifestyle. I’d love to know what topics people want to read about when it comes to giving up drinking.

As for the rest of my life, July 4 was pretty low key. Having a Wednesday day off was lovely, so I mostly just got some things done around the house. At night, Brett and I had veggie burgers and walked over to the park to see the fireworks. Luckily we could see the Hollywood Beach display since an enormous mansion was blocking most of the Fort Lauderdale beach ones. Biscuit was not a fan of the fireworks at all. She mostly hid underneath the bed all night waiting for my neighbors to quit setting them off.

Next week my office is moving to Miami. I’m pretty excited about it. I’ll also be working from home more which is absolutely amazing. I’ve been trying to get my home office area more organized so I can stay on track with all my writing and work assignments. It’s coming together nicely. I really love my new apartment, so much better than any other one that I’ve lived in. It might be a lot smaller than what I’d become accustomed to, but it’s perfect. So much easier to clean and stay organized.

Everything else is pretty great.
