One of the movies that is constantly in rotation at my apartment is Reality Bites. No surprise there. And like most ladies, I cannot get enough of character Vickie Miner, especially her wardrobe. I know this is pretty surprising to hear from a girl who lives in all black all the time, but there is this piece of me that wants to romp around town in huge disco glasses, floral print polyester, and colorful tights. Sigh, I miss my 90’s closet.

^ In the photo above, are those platform jellies? I definitely used to own those. Currently kicking myself in the ass for throwing out my teenager self’s wardrobe. So many epic pieces.

Maybe I’ll start wearing some color in the Fall….

For the release of their Summer 2011 collection, MOB teamed up with Jasmine Solano and put together a sizzling summer in the city lookbook. I love the simplicity and realness of this shoot, as well as the selection of tees and tanks. I’m especially feeling the “#1 Bitch” (reminds me of Chanel) and the “Got Heart” tank. Completely swooning over the Twelfth Street by Cynthia Vincent Holiday’11 lookbook. From long draping dresses to fringe accents and leopard print, I just want it all. This collection has me yearning for the colder months, this Florida heat is absolutely killing me. (and my wardrobe choices haha) How much longer til October? The styling in this lookbook series also reminds me so much of Almost Famous, sigh…I adore that film and the costuming. I’ll say it again, I was born in the wrong decade.

One of my favorite stores to shop at is LF, and lucky (well unlucky for my wallet) there is one just two blocks away! They carry all my favorite brands, and have an insane amount of Jeffrey Campbells to choose from. Outside of just having an amazing stock, their online trend reports and lookbooks always make my heart skip a beat. Recently they put together a series surrounding fringe, and I’m loving it. I actually just bought a really awesome black leather fringe vest and I cannot wait to wear it!

Outside of the clothing in this shoot, I’m totally lusting over the henna on the model’s hands. While hand tattoos aren’t for me, I wouldn’t mind have henna done on a regular basis, I just think its absolutely beautiful.

Season after season, jewelry designer Pamela Love never disappoints. From tribal influences to southwestern motifs, her collections emulate a mystical theme and supernatural ideas. Staying true to her gritty and unpolished stylings, her Fall 2011 collection is packed with uncut crystals, rough edges, and jagged pieces. Love has a way of turning raw and unrefined components into magical and flawless creations.

Constantly amazed and inspired by her collections, I’m always anxious to see what she comes up with next.  I’ve decided that for my birthday this year, I will be purchasing something Pamela Love.

Monday afternoon the folks at Free People released their June e-catalogue, and let me tell you, I’m absolutely drooling over it. Yes I know, its a bit shocking considering its got quite a bit of print and not so much black, but I’m just fawning over the fabrics and textures. I’m especially lusting over the lace bellbottoms and oversized tunics. I also adore those necklace armor looking pieces, I’m thinking I need to kick my DIY-butt in order and attempt to re-create those.

Unfortunately when the Sanrio X Dr.Martens collection came out, I totally slept on purchasing them.
